The Highbury stallions and the Lego Land Lions have played ou the first draw of the 2014 LFA season. The match was the first at the stallions homeground Telecom Park with a sellout crowd of over 200 lego men entering the revamped arena. The stallions came out of the blocks well leading at quarter time by 18 points with Stallions midfielders Jacob Mcdonald and Tom Baker controlling the game for the home side . With not much time to play in the second quarter , the lions were in dire straits behind by 3 goals with time running out , Enter Rob Davies who kept the Lions in the match booting 2 majors and setting up one for Lions utility Callum Lockyear to send the sides at level pegging at the main break . The lions held the lead at three quarter time by just 5 points thanks to a late major from Toby Johnson setting up an exciting finish to a historic game of Football. The Stallions started the final quarter off well with skipper Jacob Mcdonal kicking an early major inspiring his team mates to kick another seconds later through the brother of Demons Star Justin Simpson his fifth goal of the day . The Lions lead by a solitary point with seconds remaining thanks to a goal from their Captain and over 100 game veteran Craig Smith . But the stallions got the ball out of the middle quickly with a long hail mary shot at goal resulting in a behind and a draw to the match.
