Olympic Park win rain affected thriller

Olympic Park have stayed alive in the prestigous SCA Cricket Cup thanks to a four run victory over the Sam Street Stars.

Unfortunately, due to the rain in Lego City the match was restricted to a five over bash for both teams, with Ashcroft of Sam Street winning the toss and bowling.

"It looks a hard wicket to bat on" The former player of the year said.

How wrong he was. Olympic Park piled on 51 runs in there five overs for just one wicket, much thanks to there superstar import in Simmons, who scored an unmatched 40*.

Wright was the pick of the bowlers for Sam Street, compiling 1/25.

In reply, Sam Street fell four runs short of a victory, thanks to the brilliant bowling of Olympic Park seamer Breakerage, who's 1/16 off two overs got his side over the line.

At one stage, it looked like Sam Street would cruise to victory, with Wright hitting 20 off one Simmons over but two quick wickets fell soon after, with Simmons taking a splendid catch at point of the bowling of Price. Olympic Park looked like they were going to win from then on, with Breakerage dismissing the dangerman in Wright for 20 5 balls later. The win keeps The Park boys alive, sending Sam Street packing out of yet another proffessional tournament.
